Husband & Wife Now Lead As One!!

Brothers & Sisters!

I am so very excited to FINALLY share that through many years of prayer - my husband and I are leading CR together!! Ever since I graduated from CR 7 years ago and started Co-leading I have had the dream of leading CR with my husband.

I have had to learn to not "push" him and surrender that if it was Gods will - then God would move his heart. I remember a day that I finally prayed - "God, if it is not my husband that you would have lead the Men's CR Group, then please raise someone up who will have a heart for the ministry and for the men".

It was then that I beleive God started to move in my husbands heart. He has for the past 3 years attended the CR Leaders Retreat with me as a support. It was last year at the retreat 2007 in So Cal. that he felt called by God to lead!! He knew I would jump up and down and do cartwheels - so he told me what he was feeling in the "food line" That God was calling him to lead and felt as though ever lesson and class that weekend was directed at him.

CR Mourns the Passing of Carmen Correa

Our dear Sister and fellow soldier in the faith, Carmen Correa from the Bronx ministry, departed us for heaven on Sunday, May 20th. While her destination does give us comfort it has not left all those who knew her and loved her so much without a deep pain at this parting.
She was a teacher, a friend, a voice of reason, and (no doubt) at times the un-ignorable mouth piece of God. She was always real, bold, faithful, and while she was a formidable soldier against Satan, a true force to be reckoned with – she was also soft-hearted and vulnerable.

It is such a blessing to be able to watch someones heart change right before your eyes! Much like studying the Bible with others - seeing the individual receive further cleansing is faith-building and inspiring!

We are proud of the women - and can see God doing great things for God in the very near future!! There have also been two women who have stepped up to lead and are learning much on how to help others!

Glory be to God! Tammy Nelson (lead) Nitza Walker and Esther Loternero (co-leads).

CR Retreat in LA - Wounded Healers

December 5, 2006

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am writing this as a reflection and a report on an awesome event that took place this last weekend in Southern California. Eleven disciples from the BACC body took part in a Chemical Recovery retreat that included Christians from Portland, Antelope Valley, and the LA Church, as well as S.F. This was a mountain top experience that was focused only on Chemical Recovery with no other agenda expressed or present. The theme was "Wounded Healers" and the focus was on strengthening, unifying, and growing the CR ministries of the West Coast Churches and beyond.

Hosea 6:1 says, "Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds."

Skype and Jyve Make Communication a Breeze

Skype and Jyve have brought together a great way to communicate. Skype is an internet telephony software which is free and allows you to make phone calls almost anywhere in the world. If you call other Skype users, it's FREE! You can also call non Skype users for around 2c per minute by purchasing Skype Out credit from www.skype.com.

Jyve is a FREE add-on for Skype that will let people know when you are active so that they can talk with you. Skype is a great quality telephone service but it also does Chat and Desktop Share so you can really communicate with others around the globe.

We would like to see how well this would work on the Chemical Recovery site so we need some brave souls to download and install Skype and Jyve on their PC's (Remember they're both free!). When you have set them up and they are working, open your profile settings for this site and add your Skype username in the space provided. Other members will be able to see you on the members list and and communicate directly and encourage you.

If you need help installing the programs, email us here at the site using the Contact Us form and we will walk you through the setup. Hope to see you online soon.

Skype can be downloaded from here and Jyve can be downloaded from here.
