Consistently Inconsistent - Total Recovery
Just this morning I was pondering the concept of consistency. It is something I am not very good at as anyone who knows me can attest to. I'm the kind of person who starts off strong, with great ideas and enthusiasm, like a greyhound from the gate but halfway through the race, I slow down, lose interest and in too many cases simply quit altogether. This is not a good habit for a Christian to have. With this in mind I sought out my good friend, the teller of secrets, the pool of unending knowledge ~ Google! I found some interesting quotes regarding consistency from many famous people in all walks of life. The famous writer Oscar Wilde stated that "consistency is the hallmark of the unimaginative". Mahatma Gandhi noted that "constant development is the law of life, and a man who always tries to maintain his dogmas in order to appear consistent drives himself into a false position." The motivational speaker Tony Robbins had this to say about consistency " in essence, if we want to direct our lives we must take control of our consistent actions. It's not what we do once in awhile that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently."

Spiritually Spring Cleaned - Total Recovery
1_1302547363_Spirit.jpgMy wife and I took this past weekend to do some Spring cleaning. We spent two evenings cleaning the house from top to bottom. By the second evening I did not see sleep until 3:30am falling into bed exhausted.

Spring cleaning is an exhausting task on two levels. First there is the actual cleaning work itself but then there is the multitude of decisions that have to be made around what you are going to keep and what you are going to throw away.

Hearing The Message - Willingness To Change
Willingness To ChangeWhat is it going to take for you to change? We don’t like change. As humans, we would prefer most things to stay the way they are. We settle down and get in the groove while enjoying the status quo. The corporate world is well aware of this fact and has written countless books and seminars on managing change and what to expect if someone moves your cheese.

God is a changer. He loves to change things. He himself does not change because He is perfect and not in need of improvement, however we are the ones who need constant improving. We are chunks of rock being ground to diamonds. This requires heat, friction and change. We don’t like that.

Avoiding the Bait Car - Biblical Authority
Avoiding the Bait CarThere's a show on TV called Bait Car. It's a reality police show. The police place an expensive car or truck, the bait car, at a location known for car theft. They make it appear as if the person owning the car left it there in a rush and forgot to lock the doors and remove the keys. The car is left sitting at the curb like a worm on a hook waiting for the fish to strike. Surveillance is done by police in undercover vehicles with kill switches and squad cars ready to move in.
