Leadership in the C.R. Ministry
Leader in the CR MinistryNeed for Leadership:
As with any organizational or ministry structure there is always a need for leadership.  The Bible is quite clear on the subject and concludes that, without leadership there will be a lack of direction and purpose.
Judges: 18:1, 19:1, 21:25 “In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.”
When God spoke about Israel “having no king” it was not a compliment.  The book of Judges records some of the worst times in Israel’s history because of the lack of solid spiritual leadership.
It was not the title of “king” that God was emphasizing but instead He was expressing the need for strong spiritual guidance for a nation of His people.

The Sober Recruiter
Drill SergeantOne of the most inspiring speeches I’ve ever had the privilege of hearing took less than 30 seconds to deliver; It goes a little something like this:
Three military recruiters are asked to speak at an auditorium packed with high school students. The Navy recruiter steps up first and spends twenty minutes discussing how great the Navy is and the benefits of being a part of it. Not to be outdone the Air force recruiter spends the next twenty-five minutes lauding his branch and speaking highly of the opportunities offered within.

So Much More To See
Hidden Messages Around YouWhen I was 10 years old, flicking through the cable channels, I stumbled upon a movie called “They Live.” The movie was about creatures that had taken on human form but could be seen for what they really were through specially made sunglasses that very few possessed. That being the case very few people even realized they were in the midst of these alien beings. The alien creatures not only disguised their identities but disguised their method of manipulation through advertising that subliminally gave humans hidden messages that also were revealed through the aforementioned glasses. Signs for Mc Donald’s now read clearly for those who could “see:” “eat me.” Cigarette ads now read “smoke me.” And so on and so forth. The movie intrigued me deeply because I had a feeling of certainty that it illuminated a reality that existed in life and I knew that at present I did not possess those glasses but I desperately wanted them. This yearning to see the truth has been a driving force in my life.

The Accepted Dependency
Looking for a handoutIs dependency ever a good thing? Most would agree that dependency on drugs can certainly be an extremely destructive and debilitating condition but what about other dependencies? Gambling dependencies has led even the well off to poverty and extreme squander. Being dependent on the approval of the world makes even the believer impotent to do real good and stand up for what is right.

We can go on and on about how many forms of dependency we admit are bad, but there is a form of dependency that is becoming more acceptable even in the Christian community that is quite troubling. That dependency is a dependency on the government.
